Post: Project Assistant

  • Teaching children and providing academic support to teaching volunteers of MLAC (Mohalla Learning and Activity Centre- an out of school learning spaces).  
  • Tracking attendance and learning of MLAC children.
  • Liaisoning with the community and its forums.
  • Liaison with government primary schools and teachers and on-site & off-site academic support to them.
  • Reflecting on learning support centres (SPK/MLAC) and school linkage and designing activities and initiatives to strengthen it, with special focus on educationally marginalised children.
  • Provide support to school & village/ MLAC libraries.
  • Active facilitation in activities of Multidimensional Learning Centre (MLC). 
  • Designing and conducting learning sessions for teachers.
  • Provide active support to Block level planning, implementation and review.
  • Liasoning with the government. functionaries like CACs, BACs, BRC, BEO, etc.
  • Academic and administrative guidance to the team
  • Documentation, reporting and admin work.  

On-site and off-site support to the project and other Eklavya programmes as and when required.

Eligibility
Minimum qualification:

Bachelor’s degree in education. Master’s in education, or any other subject will be preferred.

Person having no such degrees but showing equivalent capabilities can also be considered. Experience will be preferred. For equivalent candidates, applications from women, persons from under-served caste, tribe, minority background and differently abled persons will be preferred.  

Other required skills and aptitudes:

  • Enthusiastic and ready to learn; work for systemic change in the public education system for ensuring delivery of quality education up to the most marginalised child. 
  • Zeal to take on challenges; willingness to stay and work in a small town / village.
  • Proficiency in Hindi (reading, writing & speaking). Familiarity with English will be preferred.
  • Creative mind.
  • Capable of riding a two-wheeler (with license).
  • Computer literate – word processing, excel sheet. 
  • Flexible in working time and tasks

Remuneration: Rs. 22,000 to Rs. 26,000. (plus health-accident insurance and other social securities). Final honorarium will be based on the qualifications, experience, initiative taking capabilities and other necessary skill sets.

Documents required:

  1. Cover letter along with updated Curriculum Vitae.
  2. At least two references of the people you’ve worked with.
  3. A piece of published/unpublished writing (Hindi or English).

Contract Period: Initially for 1 year. This can be extended after review.
