G:	CEDRIC the CROCODILE
Cedric the Crocodile was a very angry Crocodile, always looking to cause problems, always trying to bully, a loner who never listens to good advice from anyone.
Chapter 1
BADGER the BUTCHER
One day he was out in his town up to no good as usual, and was feeling hungry, so he went to hunt Badger the butcher who had the best meats in town.
Badger the butcher knew all about Cedric the Crocodile, he knew that he always wanted meat for free and would do anything he could to get it, even if it meant eating him.
Cedric stormed into the store and demanded Wheres my meat?
Badger replied Who do you think youre talking to?
Badger had quite enough of Cedric the Crocodiles ways, and for once, he stood up to him.
Cedric looked surprised, and for once his instinct to attack wasnt there.
He snapped Give me my meat Badger or I will eat you instead!!
Badger stood his ground and replied Cedric, I know youre a crocodile, but there are other ways to get what you need or want, you dont always have to be so rude and angry all the time.
Cedric the Crocodile seemed shocked, he wasnt sure what Badger was talking about and he never ever refuses his demands. Normally he gets what he wants, only now he realised it wasnt going to be that easy, so he thought he should listen to what Badger had to say.
Badger said Cedric I have watched you always causing problems in our town, I really must ask you this, do you enjoy what you do, do you like hurting, and creating fear?.
Cedric the Crocodile oddly gave some time for thought, and snapped Of course I enjoy it, I am a crocodile!
Badger the Butcher replied, Well the rest of us in this town dont, and I have had quite enough of your aggressive ways, and unless you change Cedric, youre going to live a lonely life with no one you can trust and no friends, do you understand me?
Cedric the Crocodile, felt for once confused, didnt answer, and wasnt sure what to do, so turned slowly around leaving Badger the Butcher, and went on the hunt for easier prey.
Chapter 2
PENNY the PARROT and HUGHIE the HAMSTER
The news of Badger the Butchers brave behaviour quickly got around the town.
Penny the Parrot has always had a birds eye view of Cedric the Crocodile causing so much disturbance around the town and from her high perch, she can always see him planning his moves.
Encouraged by Badger the Butchers taking a stand with Cedric, she swooped down before Cedric could find Hughie the Hamster who was fast asleep.
She squawked Stop right there Cedric!! Her loud cry woke up Hughie the Hamster.
Hughie the Hamster was terribly alarmed by Penny the Parrot and when he saw Cedric, he was in a state of terror.
Cedric didnt like Penny the Parrot, because he could never be fast enough to catch her and then eat her.
Cedric snapped angrily What do you want?
Penny squawked Leave Hughie alone, pick on someone your own size!
Cedric snarled Get out of my way you interfering feather duster!
Penny plumed her feathers, beating her wings furiously in front of Cedric with Hughie the Hamster hiding behind her.
Hughie the Hamster found a little courage in the shadow of Penny, and in terror squealed Leave me alone Cedric, please leave me alone!
Cedric was not having a great day, and was getting even more hungry by the minute. He started to wonder if his usually successful tactic of scaring the town folk and being a bully needed changing, but his instinct was to continue being a trouble maker.
Penny continued to blocked Cedrics path to Hughie, and said, Listen Cedric, there are different ways to get food, and eating those of us who live in this town isnt one of them.
Hughie squealed Thats right Cedric, listen to Penny.
Cedric stared angrily at Penny and snarled, I will be back and then turned his attention to Hughie and snapped angrily I will eat you Hughie next time!.
He then turned slowly around, swished his long tail, and with the words of different ways filling his mind, he wondered if he should change his attitude, if just a little bit.
Chapter 3
RONNIE the ROTTWEILER
Penny made sure Cedric had moved far enough away from Hughie so that he could return to sleep.
She then decided to visit her close friend Ronnie the Rottweiler, and told him all about Cedrics behaviour. Ronnie didnt like to get involved, he just wanted to be a good dog and care for his human family.
Penny felt if anyone could get through to Cedric, it was Ronnie, as he had more courage than anyone she knew.
Ronnie had a real tough upbringing, he was found abandoned and left seriously wounded after being attacked by dogs from another town because of his reputation for being a trouble maker and a bully, but since then, he has worked his way up to being a model dog, reliable and loyal to his human family; but the memory of his juvenile life still continues to haunt him.
As a close friend, Penny knows all about Ronnies former life, and this is the reason she feels he could go some way to helping Cedric to change his ways.
Penny glided down to meet Ronnie and perched herself on his back, they often got togetherwhen there were important matters to discuss, and this matter was certainly very important and for the whole town.
Penny told Ronnie of Butcher the Badgers bravery, and how it may have just sown a seed of doubt in Cedrics mind.
She also told Ronnie how Cedric tried to eat Hughie the Hamster, and if it were not for her coming between them, Hughie would have been eaten.
Ronnie was very concerned about what Penny had told him.
Ronnie barked Look Penny, what you have told me is not good news at all, and I know Cedric is a trouble maker and always causing problems in our town. You also know how hard I had to work to become the dog I am today. I just dont want to be thrown backwards to a life I am trying to leave in the past.
Penny the Parrot replied I know Ronnie, and I understand, but theres really no one else I can turn to that I know Cedric would be prepared to think twice before doing what he always does, and that is to cause problems.
Ronnie gave a deep sigh Penny I have to go home now, my human family are calling me, I will think about it, I promise.
Penny smiled warmly and said Thank you Ronnie, before flying up to her perch up above the town.
Chapter 4
SARAH the SWAN
In the town theres a large pond, a pond in a park where Sarah the Swan has lived for many years. She is known to be very educated and all knowing. Everyone in the town admires her incredible beauty.
Sarah got news of the rumpus Cedric has been causing during the day, and she too has grown tired of his unwanted behaviour. She felt it was about time that she met with him and told him to end his campaign of bullying and aggression.
Cedric was now very hungry and it was getting late too, his attitude had grown steadily worse since meeting with Badger the Butcher; and nothing will now get in the way of his next juicy meal.
Penny the Parrot was watching above, and could see worryingly that Cedrics mood had worsened. She could also see Sarah was on her way to meet Cedric, and knew that Sarah was taken a huge risk.
She took flight and swooped down to alert Ronnie the Rottweiler who was fast asleep in his garden.
She squawked Wake up, wake up Ronnie!! What is wrong now Penny? Ronnie asked.
Sarah the Swan is going to meet with Cedric, and I think she could get into deep trouble, and Cedric is not in a good mood at all Ronnie said Penny. Please help Ronnie!!
Meanwhile, Sarah spotted Cedric on the hunt for food, knowing that means further trouble, so she took flight and landed right in front of him.
Surprised, Cedric snapped angrily Sarah, I am not bothered by you, but if you do not want to be eaten, youd better get out of my way.
Sarah replied Cedric, I know you will have no problem eating me, but what good will that do you? All you will have done is satisfied your hunger, and I will be gone from this town, and then you will get hungry again and try and find another one of us to eat. Whats the point Cedric?
Cedric snapped The point is I am a crocodile, and this is what I do, and this is what you all expect, so get used to it!
Sarah said well I am not moving, so if you want to eat me, go ahead.
Cedric could not understand why the beautiful Sarah the Swan was willing to be eaten. Her actions stopped him in his tracks.
He snapped I dont want to eat you Sarah, so please get out of my way.
Oh, Sarah replied, I thought you were hungry!.
I am hungry, but I dont want to eat you Sarah said Cedric without looking directly at Sarah.
Well well well, I never knew you had a heart Cedric, said Sarah, I always thought you could not care less about who you ate in our town.
Cedric walked away from Sarah the Swan a little embarrassed, and continued angrily on the hunt for food.
Sarah called out to Cedric Cedric, why dont you think about what youve been through today, all those people trying to tell you to change your ways, we cant all be wrong.
Penny the Parrot and Ronnie the Rottweiler could now see Sarah and Cedric.
Ronnie barked out Sarah move back before you get eaten!.
Cedric heard Ronnie, and turned sharply to confront Ronnie.
Ronnie with his sharp teeth fully bared said Cedric you dont scare me, you know who I am, I am here to protect Sarah, and if you hurt her, its just me and you, do you understand?
Cedric snapped Ronnie, unless you dont want to be eaten, I suggest you mind your own business.
Cedric, I have been where you are now Ronnie replied, he went on saying Its a lonely place where you are, you feel isolated and think everyone is against you, so you feel like hitting back, I have been there Cedric.
But I am popular now said Cedric, I wasnt always you know that, I just had to change, needed to change, and now I have humans who will give me food for free and many friends like Penny and Sarah. My life is happier and I sleep easily at night; you can do the same thing I did, so listen to Penny, Badger and Sarah, and more importantly me, I know what youre going through and I am willing, no, I want to help you.
Cedric was still very hungry, but he really respected Ronnie, even more so after he offered his hand of friendship.
Okay Ronnie, listen, I will try and change, but I am hungry now, I really do need to eat.
Sarah said Stay right there Cedric, I will tell Badger the Butcher that you have decided to change.
Penny the Parrot and Ronnie the Rottweiler cautiously approached Cedric, and together said now you have friends like us, now you will have food when you want it, and Penny went on chuckling, Without eating everyone in the town!.
Sarah returned with Badger the Butcher, who brought lots of meat for Cedric.
Cedric the Crocodile was true to his word, he had changed his attitude and behaviour, and Badger the Butcher daily left him some meat to eat, and Cedric the Crocodile was never hungry or angry again.
