Project Associate / Assistant (Pune, Maharashtra)

Eklavya has developed community based learning support systems to assist first generation learners in their studies and help them overcome their sense of alienation from the school system. These Shiksha Protsahan Kendras (SPKs) function in a predominantly tribal area where education is a relatively new. Input in the lives of the people.

These learning centres, set up with community support and mostly located in spaces provided by them, have a facilitator appointed by the community. They function for two hours in the mornings before the school begins and for a couple of hours after school ends. The evening sessions are specifically for non-school going children.

Project Associate - 1 Post
Project Assistant - 2 Posts

A. Position : Project Associate (1) (For academic and coordination support)
Location :Khed (Pune)

  • Continuous engagement and support to overall planning, coordination, review and reporting of all project activities
    Academic planning for all the Shiksha Protsahan Kendra (SPK) centres.
  • Planning and organisation of all baseline tests, assessment tools, and other academic activities.
  • Liaison with the District, Block and Cluster level government education structures and functionaries.
  • Plan and organise training of all the stakeholders – SPK sanchalaks, anuvartankartas, govt. school teachers, resource pool children.
  • Planning and preparations of team members for monthly meetings with parents, SPK sanchalaks, and resource pool children, govt. teachers, SMC members.
  • Coordination with overall Eklavya vision and inputs to other primary school initiatives for taking the learnings of the project to other areas.
  • Follow-up visits to 3-4 SPK centres and primary schools per month for monitoring and guidance.

Qualifications and other desirables:

  • Graduates / post-graduates, possessing interest and abilities to work with students, teachers and community.
  • Candidate should have proficiency in verbal and written communications (must possess good command over English & Hindi apart from Marathi).
  • Candidate must be prepared to travel within / outside the state as and when required.
  • Candidates with some experience will be preferred.

Gross Salary : Rs. 22,000 – 26,000 per month (CTO includes health-accident insurance and other social securities)

B. Position : Project Assistant(2) (For academic assistance role)
Location : Khed (Pune)

  • Assistance in all review, reporting and monitoring activities
  • Planning and review of the academic work in SPKs and schools with the anuvartankartas, under the guidance of the
  • Project In-charge (PI) and Project Associate.
  • Implementation of all baseline tests, ‘Bal Melas’, learning events, camps.
  • Assistance in the development of tools and TLMs for primary classes, esp. TLMs in Marathi.
  • Regular work with the teachers of govt. schools for continued inputs in the use of TLMs.
  • Assistance in all training activities for SPK sanchalaks, resource pool children, govt. teachers, SMC members.
  • Visits to 3-4 SPK centres, and primary schools per month for follow-up and guidance.
  • Study of the daily diaries of anuvartankartas and SPK sanchalaks for review and guidance.
  • Continuous process documentation of the new experiments being tried out, like month long summer camps in new villages, etc.

  • Graduates / post-graduates, possessing interest and abilities to work with students, teachers and community.
