EKLAVYA INVITES APPLICATIONS
Eklavya (Institute for Educational Research and Innovative Action, Madhya Pradesh) is a premier educational NGO with more than two decades of engagement with innovative curriculum and teacher development, science literacy and questions of social justice in education in India. Landmark educational programmes like the Hoshangabad Science Teaching Programme (HSTP), Prashika (Primary Education Programme) etc. were housed and developed in Eklavya. Eklavya has been involved with NCERT and other state boards in curriculum and textbook development and brings out periodicals and books for children and adults.Eklavya is looking for highly competent and socially committed persons to work in curriculum and teacher development, outside school engagement and publications. (figures in parentheses are number of posts for each requirement)
Curricular Research and School and Teacher Development
(a) Languages: Bilingual Curriculum Development in English and Hindi (i) Hindi: Pre-primary to Middle School –– (2)
Post-graduate degree or above in Hindi/English, linguistics, education or psychology, with a good understanding of the language. Experience in curriculum development/school development or management and/or a degree in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed/M.El.Ed) would be an advantage.
(b) Mathematics:
(i) Primary School –– (1)
Graduate and above in mathematics, education or psychology, with some experience in education.
(ii) Middle School –– (2)
M.Sc. or above in mathematics preferred. Those with B.Tech./B.E. or a graduate in mathematics with a keen interest in math education are also encouraged to apply.
(c) Science:
(i) Primary and Middle School –– (1)
Graduate and above with some experience.
(ii) High School –– (3)
B.E./B.Tech, post-graduate and above in sciences.
(d) Economics:
(i) High School –– (1)
Post-graduate and above.
Magazines and Publications
(a) Designer cum Visualiser –– (2)
Graduate or post-graduate in fine arts, applied arts or graphic design. Experience and ability to illustrate would be an advantage. (Send samples of art/design work)
(b) Web Design and Website Upgradation –– (1)
Graduate or post-graduate in art or design and facility with computers.
(c) Editors for a Children’s Magazine –– (2)
Graduate or post-graduate in science or Hindi or communications media, with experience of editorial work.
(d) Editors for Science Magazines for teachers and other adults –– (3)
Graduate or above in science with some editorial or writing experience.
(e) Marketing of Educational Publications
(i) Senior Marketing Executive –– (1)
Professional degree and training in marketing and aptitude for strategy building and implementation. About 10 years experience in marketing of print products would be an advantage.
(ii) Marketing of Children’s Magazine –– (2)
Professional training and some experience in marketing of educational materials.
(iii) Setting up and Running Educational Outlets for dissemination of ideas and sale of materials – (3)
Graduate/post graduate with good communication and networking skills. Computer literacy compulsory. Degree/diploma or experience in marketing would be an advantage.
Administration
(a) Executive Officer –– (1)
Senior administrator to coordinate institutional administration. Sound knowledge of English and Hindi required. Training in company secretaryship and five years of experience with any reputed NGO or firm preferred.
(b) Communication Manager –– (1)
Graduate and above. Sound knowledge of English and Hindi, with both reading and writing abilities; facility with computers; ability to communicate with schools, teams and individuals.
